Welcome

CPR Demonstration at Paterson Rotary

Every week, the Paterson Rotary Club meets and has the pleasure of a different speaker and presentation. Recently, Deputy Chief Joe Murray of the Paterson Fire Department spoke to us about the current Paterson Fire Department call statistics and infrastructure. In addition, there have been several changes to the Paterson 911 system, which he shared with us. Prior to wrapping up his discussion, the Chief demonstrated some potentially life-saving CPR skills utilizing a training mannequin.

The Paterson Rotary Club was grateful for this program and we are further grateful for the service of Deputy Chief Murray over the past 26 years to the City of Paterson through the Paterson Fire Department. Chief Murray is retiring from the Department at the end of July and we wish him all the best.

Paterson Rotary Club Supports School #14 Field Day

At a time, when schools are cutting budgets, laying off art & music teachers, librarians, and holding bake sales for classroom supplies, the Paterson Rotary Club assisted Paterson's School #14 in partly funding its Annual Field Day on Friday, June 10, 2011. The Field day consisted of indoor games and crafts, as well as outdoor games such as relay races, volleyball, dance, and parachute games. In addition, the Rotary Club provided two inflatable bounce houses that were a big hit with the children from Kindergarden through 4th grade. Paterson Rotarians also donated their time to assist in the Field Day festivities.

This year's Murder Mystery fundraiser proceeds provided some of the funding for this event, while Rotarians made contributions to cover the cost of pizza for the 250 students, faculty and volunteers. In addition to the Field Day, Paterson Rotary has supported School 14 during the holidays with a special holiday party and by celebrating Dr. Seuss Week and reading to classrooms. Books were also donated to the School 14 library.
